We, universal feminists, have decided not to participate in the #NousToutes march on November 24, 2018.
For 15 years, the movement Ni Putes Ni Soumises has been fighting for the emancipation of women, regardless of their origin, skin color, culture, religion or sexual orientation. NPNS also strongly combats all forms of violence and discrimination.
The #NousToutes march represented the hope of a wave of feminism, gathering anonymous activists to form a wave of citizens who belonged to no one and everyone.
But how can we denounce the violence done to all women by appearing alongside those who tolerate some in the name of culture, religion or skin color.
How can we denounce the commercial exploitation of women’s bodies by appearing alongside those who claim the right to sexual exploitation? These small groups intend to take advantage of this opportunity to get media coverage to their causes. There is no compromise on equal rights.
We do not, and never will, accept denying our most fundamental values on the pretext of a pretence of some holy union in the name of the feminist cause, legitimizing those whose primary purpose is to denounce what remains of living in harmony.
We will continue to support all women wherever they are threatened and invite those who adhere to our universal, secular and united feminism to join us.
“Secularism, equality, diversity”
